
These French cats were photographed from the streets of Paris by a Hungarian photographer Gyula Halasz
(1899-1984). He adapted the name of his hometown - Brasso - for professional use, becoming famous as Brassai. The man who taught himself to speak French by reading Marcel Proust was
an inveterate walker. It was while walking the streets looking for stories that the young journalist began taking pictures. These cats are the watchful eyes of their neighborhoods. feline journalists of a sort. Whether you need to buy groceries or make a telephone call, someone will be watching.

That's exactly where my cat is this morning since the sun has finally made an appearance. Makes me yearn for a more photogenic window.
